Oxford Track & Field League Banbury 7th May 2006

After another successful fixture at Banbury Oxford City’s Girls and Boys teams look to have unassailable leads of 315 and 267 points respectively going into the final match at Tilsley Park in July. Now leading in 7 out of 10 age groups, and only 1 and 6 points behind in two others it was another great showing for the Club’s younger athletes.

Team managers took the opportunity of giving paces in the team to some of the younger and less experienced athletes, and all performed brilliantly. With many of the more experienced athletes taking part in non-scoring events, the results were above expectations.

The under 9 girls team of Liberty Cullen, Lydia Clarke, Korryn Pringle and Ellanor Jones achieved top two places in every event to win their age group.

County Championships - Website

Hi Everyone,

You are all aware that the County website, www.oxonaa.org has not been updated for some time. We are in the initial stages to create a new website with a different webmaster. We are currently waiting for the 'transfer of registration'.

The entry forms stated that the County Championship timetable will be available on the County website, on next Monday, 8th May.

As this will not happen, Oxford City has kindly agreed for the timetable to go onto their website. Also, there will be alpha lists of entries for men and women, to enable athletes to check their entries. The website is www.oxfordcityathleticclub.com

County Championships Heats and Finals

County Championships - Issuing numbers

Hi Everyone,

We need your help to issue numbers to competitors at the County Championships. Saturday morning is the vital time when most athletes arrive.
Would you contact people within your Club, who may be willing to do this necessary task? If anyone can help, even for an hour or so, would you please let me know?

Thanks,

Slow Start to the Season for Oxford’s Men

Saturday 29th April saw the first rounds of the Southern men’s league for the 2006 season. Unfortunately for Oxford City and in a complete reversal from last season, they slipped to defeat against some close but strong opposition. A lack of availability for a number of the multi-event athletes amongst the team meant that the technical disciplines i.e. the 110m Hurdles were omitted losing valuable points for the team. Bad luck continued for the team as Sam Moss picked up a slight injury after his win in the 100m forcing him to hold back in his 400m to ensure his fitness for his favoured event- the 200m.
