Moore and Busby jump to pb's

Newly promoted to division 1 west, Oxford City had to settle for 4th place in the opening match of the NYAL season. Despite all working hard to achieve many personal bests the Oxford athletes couldn’t make up points, with many events not filled.
In the under 15's Emily Moore and Andrew Busby both set pb's in the long jump clearing 5.00metres. Not to be left out, in the under 13's, younger sisters Lucy and Amy also set pb,s in the long jump
In the under 17 women, Kirsty Warland got the day off to a good start with a pb of 47.7 s in the 300mH then a win in the 80mH in 11.9s with Rebecca Hussey taking the B string in 13.6s.  Rebecca followed this up with wins in the 100m (12.7s) and the 200m with a pb time 25.7s  Amelia Swan winning the B string in 28.7s   Field wins came in the shot with Nionah Ntaranga and Danielle Anderson taking the A and B strings with 7.54m and 6.98m respectively. The women finished the day with a relay win in 51.8 s
Emily Moore led the way for the under 15 girls with pb wins in the 100m in 13.3s and a pb of 5.01m to win the long jump. Imogen Kempton won the B string high jump with 1.25m but had to pull out of the 1500m after landing on the bar and injuring herself. Amy Cooper had success in the shot B string with 6.30m.  The under15 girls finished off the afternoon like the Under 17's with a 4x100m relay win in 54.0s
With many under 13 girls and boys competing for the first time, wins were difficult to come by. The only success for the girls coming to Maike Chapel to win the high jump with 1.25m  The boys only wins were A and B string in the 200m with Henry Holmes 26.6s and Josh Tack 31.1s
For the under 15 boys the only wins came in the field with Andrew Busby taking both long jump 5.00m and high jump 1.60m with pb's  On the track Marcus Woodington had to settle for second best. Firstly in the 80m hurdles in 12.6s just 0.1s behind then in an exciting 400m race to finish 0.2s behind in a pb time of 56.5s
Well done to all athletes.
