Dear All,
Re: Local Coach Development Programme (LCDP)
I am writing to you to inform you that applications for the Local Coach Development Programme across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire are open. Please note if you are receiving this email and you are already on the programme I would be most grateful if you could help to circulate to any other coaches who may be interested.
The LCDP is a programme designed to support Athletics Coaches and facilitate opportunities for coaches to develop and share best practice with other local coaches. The programme primarily runs from September through to April. Support is provided in the following ways:
• Coach development workshops offering event specific and generic support.
• Mentoring opportunities with highly qualified and experienced coaches
• Discounts with Casio, Quintic and Lucozade
• Support to aid coaches develop their own personal development programme
Examples of workshops that have been delivered within the area:
• Faster reactions and starts with Stanley Madiri
• Intrinsic Biomechanics: reducing the risks of injury
• Casio: benefits of high speed motion technology
Several workshops have already been planned for coaches on the LCDP programme this coming Autumn/Winter and include:
• Three Endurance Workshops: ‘Planning the Year’, ‘Biomechanics and conditioning’ and ‘Winter in to Summer’
• Three Sprints workshops (topics to be confirmed)
• Throws and Jumps event specific workshops (topics to be confirmed)
All workshops have been fully funded by England Athletics and as a result attendance at workshops will be free to coaches on the LCDP programme.
The LCDP is primarily focused on current UKA Level 2 and 3 coaches and it is a requirement that coaches on the programme are willing to mentor 2 other coaches from within either their club or network to cascade the wealth of knowledge and support acquired on the LCDP. Places on the programme are limited and priority will be given to Level 2 or Level 3 coaches. Support on ‘how to mentor’ will be provided. If you are a level 1 coach and interested please contact me as support may be available elsewhere or from your local Athletics Network.
I WOULD BE MOST GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD CIRCULATE THIS INFORMATION TO COACHES WITHIN YOUR CLUBS/NETWORKS AND ASK THEM TO COMPLETE THE ATTACHED APPLICATION FORM AND RETURN TO MYSELF IF THEY ARE INTERESTED IN BEING A PART OF THIS PROGRAMME. PLACES ARE LIMITED.
Best Regards,
Amy
