Course: The race is held over a rural course which is a well marshalled easy to follow single lap of five miles finishing on the sports field behind the Village Hall. It is a fast flat course and an excellent opportunity to do a PB. The course has a certificate of course accuracy no. SEAA11/097 (course re-measured for 2011).
Facilities: There are changing facilities, showers, toilets, and ample parking at the village hall. Refreshments will also be available.
Registration: There is no need to report to the race desk on the day, teams do not need to be declared in advance, and entries will be taken on the day up to five minutes before the start of the race with no restriction on prizes.
Prize Giving: This will take place in the village hall as soon as the results have been confirmed. Prizes awarded in all age categories (5 senior men, 3M40, 2M50, 1M60, 3 senior women, 3F35, 1F45, 1F55) and the Stewart Horwood memorial trophies to the first male and female runners.
Results: Will be available on this Website, hopefully by the evening of the race day but certainly by the following day. Results will also be emailed direct to anyone that has given their email address, and posted to those leaving a prepaid self addressed envelope or 50p at the registration desk. Age graded results will also be available on this Website.
Sponsorship: The race is sponsored by Fit 2 Run (Dunmore Court, Wootton Road, Abingdon 01235 531050) - remember to keep your race number because it will entitle you to a 15% discount at Fit 2 Run.
Stewart Horwood Memorial Trophy: Stewart Horwood was a long time OCAC athlete, membership secretary, and organiser of the Hanney 5 for many years. In memory of all the work he did for the club his widow Monica continues to support the race and donates a trophy for the first male, and first female runners.
