Ashley inspires the men to win in opening SML

Heart and determination was the hot topic for Oxford City as they recorded their first win of the season in the southern men's league division 2 at Hemel Hempstead. Oxford fielded only eleven athletes who pulled together to cover all scoring events on the day and finished no lower than 3rd place in many of the events. Andrew Tippet and Ben Kelsey achieved the teams only A-String 1st places, Tippet took a hurdles double with 57.3secs and 16.8secs and Kelsey winning the shot with a distance of 12.74m. However the teams newcomers Adam Muir who took the supporters man of the match with a superb run and dramatic finish in the 800m clocking a time of 2 mins flat and Sayead Hashimi in the 1500m with a time of 4.36 mins where they both achieved pb's.
